The idea for the wine crate came to us while on a wine tour in Vermont, specifically a tasting in Stowe. In the cellar of the inn, while sampling some mighty fine wines, a plan was formulating. Since wine is about people, why not have a dedicated place where our community is at the core, where relationships are built and wine enjoyed. Before leaving, a location had been decided, little did we know this visit to Stowe would change our lives.

The culture of the wine crate is designed to help alleviate the anxiety of selecting a bottle of wine while offering friendly advice on discovering the new. By offering a relaxed atmosphere in which to shop, we hope to eliminate any fears and extend the favorable experience of buying and enjoying wine.

 While fiercely partial to our own tastes, we recognize the realities of a difficult economy and spectrum of public tastes.  By offering education, dedication and personalization, the wine crate hopes to elevate interest in, and appreciation of, wine. Making a small difference in somebody’s evening with the right bottle is the goal.
